《新倩女幽魂》除了在造型、场景、特效上的突破外，剧情中还加入了现代人对于感情的思考，聂小倩、燕赤霞和宁采臣之间的感情纠葛势必会引起更多的共鸣。该片前不久已卖出1200万美金的海外版权，业内对其的期待值不断增高，大有称霸四月票房的气势。

聂小倩和宁采臣的爱情广为人知，但她和燕赤霞的爱情则是头一遭，过于复杂的情感纠葛不知会不会影响《新倩女幽魂》降妖除魔的篇幅。

年轻的燕赤霞（古天乐 饰）矢志要成为一个优秀的猎妖师，他选择黑山作为他修行和圆梦之旅的起点。黑山里有很多古老的精灵妖怪，它们过着原始的生活，粗糙简单却充满杀戮气息。燕赤霞经历了一场又一场的凶险恶斗，令他的剑变得更可怕，他的力量也更强大，甚至自信可以战胜一切；直至那一天，他遇上了聂小倩（刘亦菲 饰）……

很多年以后，黑山下所有河流突然发生干涸，人们猝然面对乾旱的生存危机。为生计，大家决定组成开山队到黑山上游开垦水源－文明的人类便跟古老的精灵妖怪展开碰撞；而一段浪漫的传奇亦就此诞生……

剧情简介： 
　　从内地来港任职投资分析员的程芷恩(高圆圆饰)，在香港的感情生活与事业也并不如意，前男友原是有妇之夫，市场又面临金融危机，工作时刻紧张，唯一安慰是对面商厦窗前一名叫张申然(古天乐饰)的俊经常向她为隔空打情骂俏，有时还会互相鼓励。芷恩有次在电车内，碰见了前男友与其怀孕妻子一起，芷恩落荒而逃，差点儿在马路被车撞到，幸而，给一个打扮似乞丐的男生方启宏(吴彦祖饰)救了。芷恩为了感恩，把前男友的东西全部送予启宏来变买。原来，启宏是一名失意建筑师，而且经常卖醉，最后芷恩鼓励他戒酒，从头做起，还把一只角蛙留下来陪他。 
　　天意弄人，芷恩本来决定与申然见面来一次真正约会，但申然却更跟了另一个美女走了。芷恩伤心得像失恋似的。亦因此忘记跟了跟启宏的另一个约定，留下启宏与角蛙在公园呆等。芷恩的感情事再次触礁。三年之后，申然竟成了芷恩的老板，芷恩极憎恨这眼中的“贱男”，但申然却想娶她为妻子，此时，启宏戒酒后成为了国家著名建筑师，又搬往芷恩办公室对面的大厦工作，两人重遇隔空再续前缘。事业有成的启宏对芷恩热烈追求，申然才惊觉要快马加鞭，凑成两男一女的三角关系……
